Windows.
Explore thermally broken aluminium casement windows, flush sash designs, colours and glazing choices. Installed by DF Installations across Hertfordshire, North London and Bedfordshire.
Made for light.
Designed for life.
Aluminium is a strong, stable frame material used for contemporary window systems. It can deliver a crisp profile and a wide variety of configurations, from a single replacement casement to feature windows in a renovation or extension.
The result depends on the complete system: frame design, thermal breaks, sealed glazing units, opening hardware and the quality of installation. We help you consider the details before deciding what works for your home.

Not just one way
to frame a view.
From a straightforward replacement to an architectural statement, the opening and the chosen manufacturer determine what is possible.

Casement windows
Side-hung, top-hung and fixed sections can be combined to suit different rooms and views.

Flush-style designs
For homeowners seeking clean lines and a restrained, contemporary look.

Bay & shaped windows
Give an existing bay, angled elevation or shaped opening a modern finish.

Architectural glazing
Discuss corner windows, gable glazing and distinctive extension designs.
Beautiful to look at.
Practical to live with.
Six reasons homeowners consider aluminium, with performance always assessed against the exact product specification.
Slim, modern appearance
The strength of aluminium allows many systems to use relatively slender profiles, depending on the design.
Strong & stable frames
Well-specified frames suit larger glazing arrangements and exposed locations, subject to engineering requirements.
Low-maintenance finish
Powder-coated aluminium needs routine cleaning rather than regular painting, when cared for to manufacturer guidance.
Colour flexibility
Choose from popular neutrals and selected colour or textured finishes, subject to system availability.
Glazing performance
Thermally broken profiles and suitable sealed units can support good thermal and acoustic comfort.
Versatile configurations
Casements, fixed panes, bays and architectural arrangements can be considered depending on the opening.
Comfort is about
the whole window.
Aluminium conducts heat, so good modern insulated window systems commonly use a thermal break between inner and outer frame sections. Combined with suitable double or triple glazing, seals and proper fitting, this helps deliver the required performance.

Know what goes into your windows.
These options are from UK Doors Online’s September 2026 Aluminium Casement Windows flyer. They describe that supplier’s advertised range, not a promise that every style, size or feature is available for every installation.
Flush, standard or contemporary
Choose a classic standard sash, a modern contemporary appearance or a flush-style finish. The brochure also highlights a super-slim flush sash option.
Top-hung or side-hung
Published maximum sash dimensions: top-hung up to 1,500mm wide × 1,500mm high; side-hung up to 900mm wide × 1,500mm high. Subject to full design and hardware checks.
Six handle colours
Black, white, gold, chrome, satin and anthracite. Exact designs, matching furniture and availability should be checked when specifying your windows.
Cill options to suit the opening
The flyer lists no cill, 90mm, 150mm, 180mm and 230mm options. Selection depends on the building detail, weathering and survey.
*The supplier's flyer advertises U-values from 1.0 W/m²K and PAS24 compliance. These must be verified for the exact window configuration and certification before quotation. The glazing range is interpreted as 23–44mm; the flyer appears to contain a typo in the printed maximum (“44m”). The brochure describes the range as WER rated as standard without specifying a letter grade.
Non-standard colours can increase lead times. Swatches are illustrative rather than an exact colour match.
Why this matters: the range also promotes powder-coated finishes, engineered weather seals, recyclable aluminium and larger glazed areas. Correct installation, approved glazing and the exact system all affect the finished result.

Aluminium window
FAQs.
Materials, thermal performance, styles, costs and the fitting process, explained in plain English.
Are aluminium windows better than uPVC?
Neither material is automatically better for every home. Aluminium is often chosen for its slim appearance, strength and powder-coated finishes, while uPVC can offer a more economical option. The right choice depends on your design, budget, chosen window system and performance requirements.
Are modern aluminium windows energy efficient?
They can be. Yes, subject to specification. The referenced UK Doors Online flyer advertises U-values from 1.0 W/m²K and describes its windows as WER rated as standard. Actual whole-window performance depends on size, glazing and configuration; request the product-specific evidence before ordering.
What does thermally broken aluminium mean?
A thermal break is an insulating section between the inner and outer aluminium parts of the frame. It reduces heat transfer through the frame and helps improve the overall window performance.
Can I choose black, anthracite or another colour?
The referenced UK Doors Online flyer lists white (RAL 9016), grey (RAL 7016), black (RAL 9005), grey outside/white inside, black outside/white inside, and bespoke RAL colours. Other finishes vary by product; non-standard colours may take longer.
Can aluminium windows have opening casements?
Yes. The UK Doors Online flyer lists side-hung and top-hung casement sash sizes, with published maxima of 900mm W × 1,500mm H (side-hung) and 1,500mm W × 1,500mm H (top-hung). Final size and opening arrangement depend on full specification and safety considerations.
Can you replace my existing uPVC windows with aluminium?
Often yes, subject to survey and suitability. Frame sizes, reveals, existing sills, ventilation and required performance all need checking before a final specification and installation quote.
Do you install aluminium bay and feature windows?
We can review enquiries for bay windows, corner glazing, gable glazing and other shaped openings. Some projects require structural design or preparatory building work, which should be agreed before installation.
How much do aluminium windows cost?
Pricing depends on dimensions, window configuration, glazing, colour, hardware, access and the work needed to remove and make good around existing frames. Send photographs and approximate sizes for an initial discussion; final pricing follows the agreed specification.
How long does aluminium window installation take?
A straightforward replacement may be completed relatively quickly, while multiple openings, shaped glazing or alterations take longer. We confirm realistic timings after reviewing the site and scope.
Can you fit aluminium windows supplied by another company?
Fitting-only work may be possible when the supplied system, sizes, accessories, manufacturer requirements and site conditions are suitable. Share the specification with us before ordering so responsibilities can be agreed.
